President and Chairman of the Darryl Chappell Foundation. The Darryl Chappell Foundation is dedicated to providing grants to museums, art institutions and other organizations to foster an appreciation of the fine arts among Sub-Saharan African descent communities in North America, Central America, South America and Portugal.
Darryl is a former director of the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (“Freddie Mac”) and has years of professional experience as a strategic thinker and business transformation leader. He has achieved tangible business results in his career at Freddie Mac, Bank of America, General Electric, The Northern Trust Bank and several other corporations and non-profit organizations within the United States, Japan, Great Britain, Chile, Costa Rica, and Mexico.
Darryl holds a Masters degree in International Public Policy with a concentration in conflict management and global markets from The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and another M.A. in Business Administration with concentrations in International Business and Economics from The University of Chicago Booth School.
Darryl served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Costa Rica, Central America, from 1991-1993 as a small business consultant volunteer and also studied at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) in Mexico City in 1996. He has also contributed to the international community through volunteer assignments with Cross-Cultural Solutions in Brazil and with Insight Cuba in Cuba.
